Vesuvio (Km 95)

The volcano began its activity in 79 A. C. and is still active today. Its possible to reach one side of the crater following a path that begins at the car park at 1000 m. with a difference in level of approximately 100 m.

Cuma (Km 102)

The cave is completely dug out in tufa rock. It 5 meters high and 130 meters deep and ends in a large square room. When it was discovered in 1932 it was thought to be the cave of the oracle of Sibilla Cumana.

Reggia di Caserta (Km 62)

It was built in the second half of the 17th Century with the project by Luigi Vanvitelli for Carlo III of Borbone. There is a beautiful park, a typical Italian style garden with plays of water spurting in the numerous fountains.

Ercolano (Km 90)

The mythical foundation of Ercolano is in 1243 B. C., by the demigod Hercules. It was situated in an enchanting place on a plateau overhanging the sea. In 79 A.C. the town was completely buried by a burning cloud which transformed in a mass of mud that slowly covered everything without changing anything. Almost all inhabitants had the possibility to escape.
